Mood Disorders Ottawa

MDO is a registered nonprofit, volunteer-run organization 
that supports people with mood disorders and their loved ones.

DISCOVERY 2000 EVENTS - SUBSIDIZED SOCIAL EVENTS
This year-round program provides several low-cost social events each month for members with mood disorders.  All are welcome to participate, however, only MDO members with paid memberships are subsidized.  Please bring your membership card or complete a membership form and fee payment at the event.  See below or newsletter or for current Discovery events.


DISC2000:  Bowling @ McArthur Lanes - 15Jan2019

On-Going Discovery 2000 events:
MOVIE NIGHT

Get a $15.00 movie card for $3.00 (paid MDO members only).  Use at any Cineplex theatre for admission/concession items.  Cards do not expire.  Movie Night card distribution is held monthly; MDO members are limited to one pass every 2 months (6  per year).  If you miss a movie night distribution, we don’t allow you to make up for the missed movie card.  No sign-up ... 1st Come/1st Served ... limit of 30 cards per month.

GAMES / TRIVIA NIGHT - next date TBA
Join MDO for an evening of games, community and laughter.  We make teams to play various forms of Trivia, Pictionary, and a mystery game.  Its a hoot and there are small, tasty treats and light refreshments ... oh, LAUGHS!

MEDITATION & MINDFULNESS with Candace

Thursday February 28th, 6-8.  Please join us for a special drop-in session of a trial program sponsored by MDO. This is a free event for members and the public, so  bring a friend or neighbour. Many scientific studies have proven how Mindfulness and Meditation can reduce symptoms of stress, symptoms related to depression and anxiety (including PTSD), and other symptoms related to mood disorders.

MDO MONTHLY SPEAKER NIGHT

Speaker Night features a speaker or panel, a Q&A session and refreshments.
It is free and open to the public ... people with mood disorders, their loved ones and the interested public.
 
No registration required.
When:   3rd Tuesday of each month;  September through May (excluding Jan-Feb); 7:30p-9p, followed by light refreshment.

Where:  Southminster Church (15 Alymer Ave/near the Rideau Canal and Bank St.), 3rd floor, enter at the rear of the building.  Limited free parking is available at the rear of the building and additional parking on side streets.
