Mood Disorders Ottawa
A safe, supportive place, surrounded by adults with a mood disorder who 'get it'. A peer support group, for adults 18+ with mood disorders. Please join us for a friendly, confidential discussion of mood disorder-related topics and personal issues.
While we are self-isolating and social distancing, MDO will be offering Virtual Peer Support Groups so we can support one another. These groups are hosted through the Zoom platform phone and/or video group chat and will include an MDO facilitator and other participating peers. Everyone is welcome, though we do encourage you to check out becoming a member of MDO. You can learn more about membership here.
We will have a maximum number of participants per virtual group AND will have more than one facilitator and virtual group per evening if needed.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
6:30PM - 8:30PM
You can sign up here. Participants will be sent instructions on how to join the conversation by email by 3PM the day of the group.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP ON THE DAY OF THE GROUP YOU WISH TO ATTEND, PLEASE SIGN UP BEFORE 3PM. REGISTRATION IS NOT MONITORED BETWEEN 3PM AND WHEN A SUPPORT GROUP BEGINS (6:30PM).
*CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE*
Held in the CMHA building at 311 McArthur Ave (bus route #14). Please use the side entrance and take the elevator to the basement. We ask that participants try their best to arrive before 7:15 pm to not disrupt the flow of the meetings. You do not need to be a member of MDO to attend these informal gatherings, however we hope you may choose to support MDO at some point. For more information, see our brochure.
After a certain time, the elevator remains at the lobby unless requested from other floors. If you arrive at/after this time, an MDO facilitator will intermittently check the lobby and bring those who are waiting to the peer support group.
