Mood Disorders Ottawa
MDO is a registered nonprofit, volunteer-run organization
that supports people with mood disorders and their loved ones.
MDO is resuming In Person Peer Support Groups!
Tuesday 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Join us at the Canadian Mental Health Association building, 311 McArthur Ave. on the first floor in Room 100. The main entrance doors are locked as of 5pm so just wait outside until a facilitator can come to regularly check for participants and escort you to the group before the scheduled start time. Alternatively, you can knock on the back door leading to the meeting room and be let in there as well.
MDO peer support groups are a safe, supportive place surrounded by adults 18+ years of age with a mood disorder who 'get it'. Please join us for a friendly, confidential discussion of mood disorder-related topics and personal issues.
MDO also offers a Virtual Peer Support Group hosted through the ZOOM platform. Participants have the option to join with or without video and use the chat function to speak directly with a facilitator if needed. Otherwise, individuals speak openly about their current or past situation regarding mental health and participants provide supportive feedback when prompted. Two facilitators are available each night with a group size of approx 20 that can be split when required. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to also become a valued member of our organization!
