Awakening to Nature
Saturdays 10 am to 12:30 pm -- Aug 7, 14, 21 Britannia Park and Saturdays 10am-12pm, Sept. 11, 25, Fletcher Wildlife Arboretum
Join us for a 5-week in-person program of Forest Therapy walks to de-stress and connect with the healing power of nature guided by Certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide, Andrea Prazmowski. Participants in this program last summer had this to say:
"I was able to learn to direct my focus on nature, slowing my thoughts, and allowing me to step away from incessant problem-solving for a few hours."
"This program was wonderful in helping me disconnect from everyday stresses and find new ways to connect with nature and myself."
Maximum number of participants: 8 (may go up to 10, depending on Covid restrictions)
Registration confirmation and all program details will be emailed to individuals prior to the start of the first session along with precautions being taken to help keep everyone healthy.
Participants will need to commit as best they can to all 5 sessions since people will be asked to fill out a pre-program survey and another survey after program completion to assess results.
Before registering please note that you must be able to walk 2 kms on flat ground at a slow pace. The group does pause often and you can bring a small camp stool to sit on if you'd like. Britannia Park has accessible routes and this program can accommodate people using a wheelchair. It is also recommended that you attend the introductory information session on Friday, July 23rd but it’s not necessary.
